A “Free PokéCoins” DM? Do Not Start with the Login Box
A familiar logo is easy to copy. Check the address and the request before handing over account details or a verification code.

The message promises free PokéCoins. The page has the right logo and a convincing sign-in box. Before entering anything, stop at the address bar.
A familiar design is not proof that a page belongs to the game’s operator.
Open the game instead of the message’s link
To check an offer, start from the game or an official page you already know. A countdown in a direct message is a reason to slow down, not rush.
Pokémon GO’s security guidance warns against giving sign-in details to unauthorized third-party apps or services. Google login tokens and cookies need the same protection as a password. “We only need this string of text” can still mean handing over account access.
Work out what the code is for
If a verification code arrives, ask whether you started the matching action. If you did not, do not forward it to someone offering to “fix” your account.
For a store order, reopen the order through your saved website address and check the order number and request. A stranger knowing your Trainer nickname is not enough to make them support staff.
Suspect a login you do not recognize?
Check which provider you use: Google, Facebook or PTC. Use that provider’s own recovery route for the login, and follow the Pokémon GO sign-in help for game access problems.
If you can still open the game, review the linked sign-in methods for anything unfamiliar. Keep recovery details, codes and unredacted payment receipts out of public comments.
Give support something they can investigate
For a store order, send the order number, time, the step that failed and a screenshot with private details hidden. For lost game-account access, use the game’s support or login provider. A paid store order does not replace account-ownership checks.
Considering a top-up? Read the account and verification requirements first. Login-based fulfilment involves third-party access; official self-checkout is an alternative. A retailer cannot promise how a game operator will treat an account.
