Pokémon GO

This year’s Pokémon GO Halloween event has begun, and Pikachu, Zubat, and Latias have all donned new outfits. In addition to collecting Pokémon, there are free rewards to claim; if you’re looking to stock up on Candy and Stardust during the event, be sure to take advantage of the GO Pass level bonuses.

First, Keep These Three Dates in Mind

All times listed below are local time in the player’s location; do not assume they are based on Beijing time.

The first phase ends on November 1, but you can continue upgrading your GO Pass until November 5, and you can claim rewards you’ve already unlocked until November 7—be sure not to mix up these dates.

How to Get the Three New Outfits?

You have a chance to encounter Shiny versions of all three new outfits, but they are not guaranteed. Pokémon such as Gengar and Halloween-themed Porygon will also appear in the wild. For more event details, check out Pokémon Hubs’ roundup; specific rules are subject to official announcements.

Don’t Miss Out on Free Rewards

There is a free, limited-time survey with a task that completes automatically, which rewards you with 6 Mystery Candies and a chance to encounter a Pikachu in a new outfit. Please log in to the game before 10:00 a.m. on November 1 to claim your rewards.

While exploring, keep an eye out for festive surprises on the map: Tapping them may result in a Pokémon encounter or Candy, and if you’re lucky, you might even get a Super Candy.

Candy and Stardust bonuses must be unlocked first

These bonuses do not take effect automatically just by joining the event. You must first upgrade your Halloween GO Pass to the corresponding level. The Deluxe version is a paid upgrade; please check the in-game prices and rewards before purchasing.

How to Play with Less Hassle?

If you want to collect outfits, start by claiming the free Pikachu, then save your Raid attempts for Pokémon you haven’t obtained yet. If you want to stock up on Candy and Stardust, first check what level your GO Pass is at, unlock the bonuses, and then focus on catching Pokémon.

There isn’t much time, so you don’t have to chase every single one—just pick the ones you like and enjoy them. As for Shiny Pokémon, just leave it to chance.
